ISAO was founded in March 2024 by Yu Zhu, a 10th grader at Great Neck South High School, with a vision to prepare middle and high school students the necessary skills to conduct real astronomy research. In doing so, Yu and her high school collaborators established this platform, including astronomy resources, past & upcoming events, and so much more! These resources were the structural support that aspiring astronomers needed to succeed.
